The lighthouse tower is listed as a building
of architectural / historical interest.
The tower was built in 2 parts: The base containing a foghorn
and the engine room, the upper part the lightkeepers' room and
the lantern. It was the first time that a first-class siren
fog signal (2 blasts every 45 seconds - discontinued 2001) had
been installed in a rock lighthouse. |
