Nightwish
A band from Finland, founded 1996, with a
great female singer (Tarja Turunen), who unfortunately departed
in 2005. Tarja is a trained classical singer with a brilliant
opera voice who carries the metal sound of the band to new
dimensions and adds that special something to the overall
sound that some people describe as "melodic metal"
or "Gothic". For me it's just great music, very
powerful. They play hard rock, ballads or as they say heavy
metal.
My favourite album is "Oceanborn" (1998), followed
by "Wishmaster" (2000).

Nightwish
reveals the new vocalist, Anette Olzon from Sweden. At the
same time the new single, "Eva", is being released
exclusively for download
on the internet. The forthcoming album shall be out in autumn.
