Mary Black

Mary Black is an Irish singer with a strong, clear voice. Her musical career began about 20 years ago when she released her first album "Mary Black". Since then she has recorded countless albums, spreading her style from folk, Gaelic songs, even Country to Pop. Collaborations with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, Eleanor McEvoy a.o. show her versatility.

My favourite album might be "Collected" (1984), though it's really hard to pick just one. I'd recommend the 2001 release "The best of Mary Black 1991 - 2001" to get an impression of her work.
