The Canadian singer/songwriter/harpinist Loreena
McKennitt has an outstanding beautiful, clear voice. Her music
covers Celtic, Folk, World music, medieval.... It won't fail
to take you on a journey and suddenly you are spellbound by
the sheer beauty of the songs. From the very beginning of
her career Loreena McKennitt has been self-managed and still
is the head of her own record label, Quinlan Road.
My favourite albums are"The mask and the mirror"
(1994) and the superb 1999 released 2-CD-set
"Live in Paris & Toronto"
Almost 10 years after the
release of her last studio album "The book of secrets",
Loreena is back with her latest release "An ancient muse"
and surprised us with an extended world tour (Germany,
Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark,
U.K., Belgium, Canada, U.S.A.) in 2007.

I was lucky enough to attend
the first concert of the tour in Stuttgart/Germany
(Liederhalle) on 11th of March 2007, a wonderful
concert, no doubt one of the best I have ever been to. Loreena
was in good mood and sounded phantastic, the musicians were
first class and the sound was excellent. They played 2 sets
of almost 2 1/2 hours, a good mix of old and new songs and
also one of my favourites "The Highwayman". It was
a great experience and a magic night.
|The concert consisted of 2 sets divided by an
intermission of about 15-20 minutes. The songs they played were:
She moved through the fair
The gates of Instanbul
The mummers' dance
The bonny swans
The mystic's dream
All souls night
Beneath a phrygian sky
The lady of Shalott
The old ways
